If you previously filed homestead within the state of Florida, you may be eligible for additional savings. When filing for your homestead exemption, remember to file a Portability application.
Get an estimate of your property taxes. Do not assume the taxes from the previous owner will be the same for you; a change in ownership may reset the assessed value to the full market value, this could result in higher property taxes.
